The first thing to note when considering an LED TV is that in reality, an LED TV is simply an LCD TV with added LED technology. Traditional LCD televisions use fluorescent tubes for lighting. These tubes, while sufficient, decrease the colour quality of “true blacks”. It is this problem that prompted the use of LED technology.
If you are mounting the tv relatively high on the wall, like over a fireplace or something like that, you should get the one that tilts forward a bit. If you have the tv more or less at eye level, the flat one will be just fine. Generally, you will find that the tilting mounts are the ones that leave the tv about 3 inches out and the flat mounts will leave it about one inch out.

These sections are not really safe for attaching a heavy item like a plasma screen. Bear in mind that the distance between wall studs can vary from home to home, so double-check yours will fit your screen. Some plasma mounts even hang from the ceiling, which can look amazing, But you’ll need to be sure you attach it to a sturdy ceiling joist to avoid the costly and dangerous disaster of an unsecure mounting, There’s a bit more planning with a ceiling mount as you’ll need to find the best height for the screen, but it can mean the screen is visible across a wider angle, which is great if you have a large family. However, with a ceiling mount, you’ll usually need a set-up where a single cable runs to the screen, and all the connections are in a separate box.
Go to a Walmart, Circuit City, best buy, radio shack, etc for comparisons. Check on the web and see who is having sales and who is selling the cheapest. Also when you mount the TV, you want to mount the TV in the study of the wall to keep it from falling. I personally drilled mine into the masonry of my fireplace. Hope This Helps
I was pretty set on getting the Samsung, then I went to Costco to buy a wall mount and saw the Vizio there. I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with the two. The thinness/thickness isn’t much of a factor to me. The matted screen could be an issue since the TV will be close to a bunch of windows. Really, I want something that offers good features and options and provides outstanding picture quality. Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
